LE MARS DAILY SENTINEL: Survey: Iowans view trucking industry as good for state

LE MARS DAILY SENTINEL – …IMTA intends to use these findings as they launch their new industry-wide “Trucking Moves Iowa Forward” image campaign later this month.

“We are encouraged by these findings because it shows that when Iowans understand how vital our industry is for Iowa and the economy, they are receptive to our industry’s efforts,” Neville said. “We have a great story to tell.”

Included in that story, Neville says, is the $15,000 spent per truck, per year on ensuring that safety and compliance are always on the forefront.

“Drivers are helped by different technologies in the truck that helps keep them in their lane of travel, and allows them to stop in a timely manner,” said Pat Kuehl of Great West Casualty in South Sioux City, Nebraska, a member of IMTA. “All of that is safety for the motoring public.”
